From BU Today: Herff Jones, the company that offers graduation merchandise through Barnes & Noble at BU, as well as regalia—such as class rings and yearbooks—for other colleges and universities across the country, reported this week that it was the victim of a cyberattack that compromised thousands of student customers’ personal payment credit card accounts.
“Barnes & Noble College has been notified that Herff Jones recently discovered they had been the victim of a cyberattack after receiving reports of possible fraudulent activity on student customers’ personal payment card accounts, which may have compromised customer data,” a statement from Barnes & Noble says. “We want to assure you that we are taking this situation very seriously and are working closely with Herff Jones to fully understand exactly what happened and how they are addressing the issue.”

In a letter to graduates on April 16, President Robert A. Brown announced updates to the all-university in-person Commencement on Nickerson Field on May 16.
Boston University will hold two ceremonies on Sunday, May 16 - one ceremony at 9:30 am specifically dedicated to graduate/advanced degree students and a second ceremony at 2 pm for undergraduate students. Interest in attending on May 16 is so great that participation was predicted to surpass the capacity of Nickerson Field under the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and City of Boston maximum capacity guidelines, and consequently, the decision for two ceremonies was made to allow all interested students opportunity to attend. Read more about the update in the BU Today article.
Registration for the all-University ceremonies will begin on April 30. Registration closes on Sunday, May 9 at midnight EDT.
Check the All-University Commencement page for more details.
