Whitney Sanders comes from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with over ten years of experience working in Milwaukee County. She worked as a paralegal in the Milwaukee Police Department Cold Case Homicide Unit, the North Central HIDTA, the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office Violent Crimes Unit, and the Milwaukee County Corporation Counsel. Whitney earned her bachelor’s from Marquette University with a major in Criminal Justice and Law Studies and a minor in Political Science. In May of 2019, Whitney graduated with a double master’s in Criminal Justice and Public Administration.

Whitney is currently a third-year PhD student at the University of Texas at Dallas in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Program. Additionally, Whitney is a Graduate Research Assistant for the Institute for Urban Policy Research at UT Dallas. Whitney is a member of the American Society of Criminology and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Her research interests include cybercrime, criminological theory, human trafficking, and intersectionality.
