Abstract

The NSF ADVANCE program officers will present on lessons learned from ADVANCE grantees about how to sustain organizational changes and strategies for institutionalizing systemic changes within an organization. “Unpacking” diversity, equity, and inclusion issues and data to identify the systemic causes of the issues is important to set your project up for long-term impact. Some ADVANCE grantees have had success with sustaining efforts up to 15 years after their NSF grants have ended. We will also discuss how important thinking intersectionally is for making systemic changes – especially culture and climate changes and for monitoring of your impact over time.
