Whether you were one of the roughly nine hundred in-person attendees in Mendoza, Argentina or among the more than two thousand that joined online from across the globe, the conference once again reinforced the value of collective problem-solving in the challenging field of cybercrime.
Thank you to our esteemed speakers—representing a spectrum of government, academia, and private-sector innovation in the field—and our intrepid Cybercrime Investigation and Student Paper contestants. Together, they explored an array of compelling and thoughtful approaches to the theme of “Cybersecurity & Digital Crime Prevention: Building Global Readiness for Mega Events.”

Global mega events, such as the FIFA World Cup, present heightened risks related to cybersecurity threats and digitally enabled crime. These risks include cyberattacks, cryptocurrency‑related financial crime, identity theft, online fraud, and technology‑facilitated human trafficking—many of which are increasingly augmented by artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
