Mijin Kim

Dr. Mijin Kim is an associate professor of criminal justice at Illinois State University. She earned her PhD at John Jay College of Criminal Justice/Graduate Center, CUNY. Her research interests primarily lie within the field of corrections, with a particular focus on critical incidents in correctional facilities and the ways confinement conditions influence inmate behavior both during incarceration and after release. She is currently exploring the use of wearable technology for correctional officers, as well as the broader implementation of AI and emerging technologies within correctional settings.
