Jan Ellerman

Jan Ellermann works as a Senior Specialist in Europol’s Data Protection Function and provides operational data protection-related guidance across the organization. He holds a doctoral law degree and has published various articles on topics related to data protection and information security. Jan is a certified data protection auditor and has obtained a Master of Science degree in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation at the University College in Dublin (UCD).

Jan is passionate about data protection and is one of the initiators of the Europol Data Protection Experts Network (EDEN), an online collaboration platform that has been developed with the aim of involving stakeholders from various backgrounds in order to increase both freedom and security.
