Dr. Katalin Parti is an associate professor of sociology at Virginia Tech. She holds a JD and an LLM in law (Hungary), an MA in sociology (Hungary), an MS in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Cybercrime Investigation & Cybersecurity from Boston University, and a PhD in Criminal Justice (Hungary). Her interdisciplinary training in sociology, law, and criminology reflects the need to study cybercrime as both a social phenomenon and a regulatory challenge. Her scholarship examines cybercrime victimization and offending, with particular attention to vulnerable groups such as children, older adults, and international students, and includes interdisciplinary research and community-based cybersecurity education programs addressing online fraud and digital victimization.
