
María Eugenia Hernández Fernández
María Eugenia Hernández Fernández is a seasoned Spanish prosecutor with over 20 years of experience, currently serving as the Prosecutor for International Cooperation at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Madrid. Since transitioning to the field of international cooperation more than two years ago, she has been instrumental in facilitating cross-border legal collaboration. Between April 2014 and July 2019, Hernández Fernández served as an advisor at the Directorate-General for International Legal Cooperation within Spain’s Ministry of Justice. In this capacity, she represented Spain in various international committees, notably those of the Council of Europe concerning conventions on combating terrorism and cybercrime, including the Budapest Convention. Her extensive experience encompasses both national prosecution and international legal frameworks, underscoring her commitment to enhancing global justice systems.
