Wook Kang

Dr. Wook Kang is a distinguished professor of public administration at the Korean National Police University and a leader in security and technology research. As the director of the Drone and Security Research Institute (DASRI), established in 2016, he focuses on enhancing public safety through drone technology and thwarting their misuse in crime and terror. Additionally, Dr. Kang is the president of the Korean Association of Industrial Security (KAIS), which propels industrial security forward to reinforce national competitiveness through academic conferences and publications. In his role as president of the Korean Financial Crime Prevention Association (KFCPA), he actively develops prevention strategies against financial crimes. Kang also directs the Smart Mobility Major, advancing studies in autonomous vehicles and UAVs. A prolific author and government advisor, Kang contributes to policy on committees such as the prime minister-led counterterrorism committee.
